Empowering the Next Generation With My Book
I am Michael Fallon, the author of an autobiographical book called “My Hustle.” The book is written in a late 80s setting and describes my life as a kid. My Hustle is available in various stores, including Barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc.
My Background
I am a 48-year-old black man born in Martin Luther King hospital in Los Angeles. I grew up on 54th and 4th Ave, on the borderline of the crip gang and blood gang. After a few years, I relocated to Pasadena, which held the same street rules, if not harsher. From a very young age, I figured out how to survive and get paid. I struggled to balance home street and school and relocated again to Rialto. There I developed into a man and started living with dignity and integrity.
Unforgettable Experiences
In 1979, I was able to go to a Kool & the Gang concert. I went to theaters and was able to play while the movie was on. Then the 80s arrived, and I went to see the 1984 Olympics. I saw Michael Jackson twice on tour at Dodger stadium. After that, the Crack-era started, and the urban areas in America began dealing with the epidemic. I grew up in this and had to make many choices and decisions to survive in Los Angeles and the surrounding suburbs, where gangs, drugs, and street knowledge kept you alive.
